Part-Time Finance Clerk

18 hours per week (flexible within office hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM)

Compensation:

Hourly rate commensurate with experience, not to exceed $20/hour

Position Overview:

Lafayette Township is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual for the role of part-time Finance Clerk. This position supports the Finance Department with key tasks including financial record management, accounts payable, and general administrative duties. The Finance Clerk will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and ensure accuracy in financial transactions and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Posting receipts and disbursements
  • Managing accounts payable
  • General ledger entries and account analysis
  • Maintaining vendor files
  • Ordering office supplies
  • Processing 1099 forms
  • Assisting with other financial projects as directed by the CFO

Qualifications:

  • Experience with MSI software & prior Government experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of accounting or finance

Schedule:

Flexible hours available within office hours (Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 3 PM); however, a consistent weekly schedule is required.
